Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship device, the Xiaomi 13, has received official confirmation. Next-generation high-end smartphone with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC is expected in China on December 1. The company has also released teasers showing some potential smartphone features.
The Xiaomi and its 13 series are among many products released on December 1. The company has also confirmed that MIUI 14, based on the Android 13 operating system, will be released on the same day. This suggests that MIUI 14 will likely come pre-installed on the upcoming Xiaomi 13.
Xiaomi 13 has Qualcomm’s next-gen processor.
The official launch invitation and teasers indicate that the Xiaomi 13 would sport a premium metal body and glass layer design. Leica will be responsible for the manufacturing of the camera’s motor. The phone will come with an IP68 rating, like most other top-of-the-line phones, which means it will be resistant to water and dust.
Also, the Xiaomi 13 seems to have a screen with a 93.33% screen-to-body ratio and thin bezels. Again, like the iPhone 14, It will have a flat screen with a hole in the middle of the top. The phone is also expected to have a fingerprint sensor built into the screen.
In China, the company will also release products like the Xiaomi Buds 4 and the Xiaomi Watch S2. There has yet to be any news about when the phone will come out in India. Considering the schedule, it will likely come out in India in the first quarter of 2023.
Expected Specifications
It is speculated that the Xiaomi 13 will include a 6.2-inch 2K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, combined with 12GB RAM and 256GB onboard memory, will probably power the device’s internal components. We can also expect the device to come out with more memory options.
The Xiaomi 13 is expected to have a 50MP Sony IMX8-series rear camera sensor that supports Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and a 32MP front-facing camera. The smartphone has a 4,700mAh battery that can be charged via USB Type-C at 120W.
