The latest Xiaomi fold phone has been unveiled

Xiaomi’s next foldable phone, the MIX Fold 2, was shown off in China, where the company is based. The news came just a few days after Samsung made its fourth generation of fold and flip phones more widely available worldwide.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 will have the same Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 smartphones. The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 unfolds to just 5.4 mm, but the firm claims its folded thickness is 11.2 mm. It comes equipped with a micro waterdrop hinge developed by Xiaomi.

Xiaomi has revealed a new foldable phone to compete with Samsung.

  • Display

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 has two AMOLED flagship screens on opposite sides. The external display has a classic 21:9 ratio design. The 6.56-inch show has a resolution of 2520×1080, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a brightness of up to 1000 nits.

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 sports an 8.02-inch Samsung Eco OLED display inside. It has a 2160×1914 resolution and 120Hz AdaptiveSync Pro support.

  • Operating System

The latest MIUI Fold 13 operating system powers the Xiaomi MIX Fold 2. Third-party app adaption will be carried out following Android 12L solutions, getting better native support capacity for third-party apps.

  • Camera & Storage

The Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 features a 50MP Sony IMX766 primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide angle camera, and an 8MP camera with 2x optical zoom and portrait mode. It has a 20MP front camera for selfies.

The MIX Fold 2 has a 4,500mAh battery and a 67W charger. The phone has one RAM model (12GB) and three ROM models: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The base model with 12GB/256GB storage costs $1,06,351. There has been no word on its arrival in India.
