Sony Xperia 5 IV Could Be Announced as the Company’s New Smartphone on September 1

Sony Xperia 5 IV has said that on September 1, it will announce a new Xperia device via a livestream on its official YouTube page. It’s still not clear what the device is, but it could be a smartphone like the Xperia 5 IV. The US Federal Communications Commission’s certification database allegedly had information on this phone (FCC). Rumors say that the Xperia 5 IV could have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and could have the same camera specs as the Xperia 5 III, its predecessor.

Sony and Cat Burns worked together to make her new music video on this new Xperia device. On September 1 at 4 p.m. JST (12:30 p.m. IST), the event will be livestreamed on the official Sony Xperia YouTube channel. The company hasn’t said anything about what features this upcoming Xperia device will have.

Reportedly the newest member of the Xperia family, the Xperia 5 IV, has already received certification from the FCC. The width and height of this phone are respectively 67.1 and 155.74 millimetres. The diagonal length could be 153.5mm. Based on these numbers, this smartphone may have a 6.04-inch screen.

The Sony Xperia 5 IV should also be able to connect to the internet wirelessly using NFC and Wi-Fi 6. It’s possible it can even be charged wirelessly. Many believe that the phone’s SoC is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It is likely to have the same camera setup as the Xperia 5 III, which it replaced.

The Sony Xperia 5 III came out in April of last year. It has a 120Hz refresh rate and a 6.1-inch HDR OLED CinemaWide display with a full-HD+ resolution. It comes with an 8GB RAM and 256GB of built-in storage, as well as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. The phone has three 12-megapixel cameras on the back and an 8-megapixel camera for taking selfies. It has a 4,500mAh battery with support for Xperia Adaptive Charging.
